Lawmakers need to hear from you about issues that affect your business. “All politics is local” is a well-known phrase coined by former U.S. Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill, encapsulating the principle that a politician's success is directly tied to his or her ability to understand and influence the issues affecting constituents.
As Congress debates the next highway bill, those of us in the truckstop industry must actively voice our opposition to issues that adversely affect our businesses, such as rest area commercialization and expanded tolling on existing Interstate highways.
